Bisoprolol, also known as Zebeta, is a beta-blocker medication used to treat heart disease. This includes tachyarrhythmias, hypertension, chest pain caused by insufficient blood flow to the heart, and heart failure. It is taken orally.
Common side effects include headaches, fatigue, diarrhea, and leg swelling.
More severe side effects include worsening asthma, impairing the ability to detect low blood sugar levels, and worsening heart failure. Some concerns using it during pregnancy could harm the baby. Bisoprolol belongs to the beta blocker family and is of one particular type.
